There are, however, occasions in life when the problem we are facing appears to be insurmountable. It is during these critical moments that many of us turn to God in prayer for divine interventions and miracles. A miracle is, by definition, something out of the ordinary that cannot be fully explained by man’s reasoning and mostly happens when we need it most.
I recall that there was one specific hard season in life when I desperately needed a miracle–something beyond my strength or understanding. During such desperation moments, I prayed, especially with Bible verses that spoke to God’s miraculous power. It wasn’t saying the words that mattered; it was believing that God could do the impossible, which I couldn’t foresee. Another thing I learned was that all miracles do not occur instantaneously, but through prayer, my faith grew. While waiting on the breakthrough, I started to find the peace in praying God’s Word. There were certain Scriptures, such as Matthew 19:26, where Jesus says, “With God, all things are possible,” which would give me hope whenever all would seem hopeless.
